"A car enthusiast with a large collection, mainly Ferraris, both for the road and the track, Uderzo purchased the car on 27 January 1988 from a Belgian dealer for 585,000 Belgian francs (copy of the bill of sale on file). Four years later, Uderzo commissioned the renowned Carrosserie Lecoq to undertake a complete restoration with the help of American car specialist Bernard Afchain. The restoration cost Uderzo over 440,000 francs, a colossal sum for the time. He then immobilised the Cadillac as a work of art. The current vendor acquired Uderzo's Cadillac at an auction in France in 2017, the vendor having purchased it directly from Uderzo, since then it has been regularly maintained and kept in very good condition."
